Charles and Ray Eames continued to design and redesign and re-engineer anything they thought could benefit from improvement. According to the couple, “design is a method of action” and moving forward was always necessary. In 1950 the Eames Armshell Chair (Chartreuse) was the next stop in a design revolution that still is ever-changing to this day. The deep pocket-style seat provides an ergonomic comfort for the occupant. Designed for Herman Miller, the Eames Armshell Chair (Chartreuse) is crafted from a naugahyde material on a fiberglass arm shell with Eiffel-style base in zinc.
